Brittany Citron, Founder

After nearly 12 years in the corporate world, Brittany Citron took her career in an entirely different direction after an eye-opening experience during her first pregnancy alerted her to the critical need for better education and resources to support women during the pregnancy and postpartum period.  Brittany launched PROnatal Fitness in 2015 – recruiting a team of experts to bring her vision of offering the Gold Standard in pre and postnatal resources and education to life. Brittany holds a BBA from the University of Michigan, a Personal Training Certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), a Group Fitness Certification from the American Council on Exercise (ACE), and several pre and post natal specializations, including Program Design, Corrective Exercise, and Diastasis and Pelvic Floor rehabilitation. When she’s not working or exercising, she enjoys spending time with the three people who originally inspired the idea for PROnatal Fitness – her supportive husband and two children, Liam and Isla.

Carolyn Appel, Education Director

With a background in competitive tennis, Carolyn has built a career on her passion for fitness and athletics over her two decades in the fitness industry. She received her master’s degree in Motor Learning and Control from Columbia University and continues to spread the message about the importance of the teaching and learning process in client skill development when presenting at national and regional conferences for the NSCA, ACSM, and fitness facilities big and small. As a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA, Carolyn spent several years on the faculty of the Equinox Fitness Training Institute and used to consider teaching her number one joy, until having her son, who shot to the top of the rankings in 2015.

As the Director of Education for PROnatal Fitness, Carolyn is “the brain” behind the company’s innovative Performance-Based Education Programs, leveraging the latest research and evidence-based strategies to teach professionals how to train their clients for pregnancy and the postpartum period like they would train for any other major athletic event.

Claire Yanta O'Mahoney, Social Media Manager

As a longtime wellness professional and proud new mama, Claire has found the intersection of fitness and motherhood to be her favorite professional niche. She holds a Masters of Science in Developmental Psychology from Tulane University. She is also an ACE Certified Personal Trainer + Group Fitness Instructor, a Nutritious Life Certified Nutritionist, and a PROnatal Fitness Pre/Postnatal Performance Training Specialist.

After applying the PROnatal Performance Training Approach during her own pregnancy — and experiencing a vastly more active (and comfortable) prenatal and postpartum experience than she anticipated — she decided that serving the pre & postnatal population was her calling, and she could not be happier to be doing this work with PROnatal Fitness! When she’s not empowering new and expecting parents, Claire soaks up quality time with her family and traveling.

Jessica Walters, Customer Experience Manager

Jessica Walters began her career working as a Physical Therapy Technician and a Kinetic Integrations Exercise Professional – focusing on clients with chronic and acute injuries. After successfully working through her own rehabilitation – and feeling the dramatic improvement in her quality of life – she decided to pursue a career in personal training to help people learn to move better and help prevent pain or injury in the first place. This passion led her to specialize in pre & postnatal, given how important proper movement and training are during this physically taxing journey.  Her search for the best pre & postnatal education led her to PROnatal, and the rest is history.

Today, as a PROnatal Personal Trainer and the Customer Experience Manager, Jessica is committed to ensuring every individual’s experience with PROnatal Fitness — customer or not — is a great one.  She does this all while balancing life as a new mom too!

Krystan Weinstein, Operations Manager

Growing up dancing in Chicago, Krystan always had a love of movement. That love of movement took her to college where she studied Performing Arts Management. After college, she had the opportunity to dance professionally at the Walt Disney World Resort for five years, creating memories she will never forget.

While at Disney, she grew a love for health and fitness and moved into the world of fitness management. She had the pleasure of opening and managing two boutique fitness studios in the Orlando area. During this time she learned a lot about people management, social media advertising, customer retention, and time management & productivity improving skills.

Today, Krystan runs the operations of this New York based company from her home in sunny Florida where she lives with her husband and their “child” (a very spoiled puppy).
