Train for the Event of a Lifetime

Welcome! Whether you’re here for yourself, your clients, or perhaps both, we understand how confusing and overwhelming this topic can feel.

We view the pregnancy journey in an entirely different light – not as a “condition” to be feared but as one of life’s greatest athletic events. This means that we approach training for pregnancy (and postpartum) the way athletes prepare for the unique demands of their sport – with specific preparation for the unique demands of the event ahead.

We call it a Performance Training Approach, and it’s the approach we teach health & fitness professionals like you – so you can confidently train others for the unique stresses of pregnancy and birth, and help them emerge even stronger.

You have the power to help your clients achieve their personal best in life’s greatest athletic event. We’re here to help you make that happen.

Brittany Citron

ProNatal Fitness Co-Founder & CEO

A former corporate marketing executive turned fitness entrepreneur, Brittany founded ProNatal Fitness in 2015 after experiencing firsthand the lack of evidence-based education and resources in perinatal fitness. Determined to set a new standard, she assembled a team of experts to create the industry’s “Gold Standard” in pre and postnatal fitness education. Brittany holds a BBA from the University of Michigan, a Personal Training Certification from NASM, and a Group Fitness Certification from ACE, along with multiple pre and postnatal specializations, including Corrective Exercise, and Diastasis & Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation. As a mom of two, and the co-author of five ProNatal Fitness courses, she brings both professional expertise and personal experience to her mission.

Carolyn Appel, MA, CSCS

She served on the faculty of the Equinox Fitness Training Institute before her own pregnancy experience inspired her to address the gap in evidence-based perinatal fitness education. Today, she is the architect of ProNatal Fitness’s “Performance Training Approach,” the co-author of five ProNatal Fitness courses, and a sought-after national presenter at fitness conferences such as IDEAFIT, NSCA, and ACSM. Outside of her work, she stays on her toes keeping up with her very active, athletic son.
